POPPY (Papaver somniferum)
A poppy is a flowering plant in the subfamily Papaveroideae of the family Papaveraceae . The capsule, which is the fruit of the plant, contains many seeds. Poppy oil is a high quality edible vegetable oil. After removing the oil from the seeds, the remaining pulp is used as animal feed and increases the fat content of the animal's milk. Up to 20 alkaloid is obtained from the fruit shell.
