LINDE (TILIA)
Tilia is a genus of about 30 species of trees, or bushes, native throughout most of the temperate Northern Hemisphere.White and light wood is obtained from linde trees, which is valuable in woodwork. The fibers in the lime shell are used in rope and coarse fabrics. It is also an important source of nectar in beekeeping. The flowers are drunk as tea and are used medically. Linden flowers are used as a sedative, urine and expectorant tea. They are used in decoupage and furniture, in toy industry, in the production of musical instruments, in the production of paper and matches.
