Jujube (Ziziphus zizyphus)
Ziziphus jujuba commonly called jujube is a species of Ziziphus in the buckthorn family (Rhamnaceae).
Jujube fruits contain sugar, tannin and mucilagous (exopolysaccharide) substances. Ripe fruits dried in the sun can be consumed with tea as a snack.Jujube is believed to alleviate stress and traditionally for anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-ulcer, anti-inflammatory purposes and sedation, hypotensive and antinephritic, cardiotonic, antioxidant, immunostimulant, and wound healing properties.
