The almond (Prunus dulcis, syn. Prunus amygdalus) is a species of tree native to Mediterranean climate regions of the Middle East.Almond is also the name of the edible and widely cultivated seed of this tree. Within the genus Prunus, it is classified with the peach in the subgenus Amygdalus.
Almond is eaten as a fruit snack; used incandies and pastries. It is also possible to obtain milk from almonds and is a product that is found in the world market. Oil is used in industry. Almond composition has 54% fat and 16.9% starch. It is rich in mineral salt and vitamins.
